I Believe that every human being is unique and art is the expression of that uniqueness.

• Art education by definition recognizes each student’s uniqueness.
• Art education upholds each student’s sense of self, the link to his or her uniqueness.
• Art education provides for curiosity, which is the impulse that guides a person to discover his or her own life’s purpose.
• Art education builds self-confidence by helping a student reach his or her personal goals.

Creating goes far beyond the immediate results of producing a product. Making a dream come true is a lesson about living a fulfilling life.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor says it beautifully in her autobiography, My Beloved World.

But experience has taught me that you cannot value dreams according to the odds of their coming true. Their real value is in stirring within us the will to aspire. That will, wherever it finally leads, does at least move you forward. And after a time you may recognize that the proper measure of success is not how much you’ve closed the distance to some far-off goal but the quality of what you’ve done today.
